With a quiet paperwork filled spring in front of us, we were pleased to be contacted in early January to be asked to support the inaugural World Defense Show in Saudi Arabia.
WDS22 is the Kingdom’s first major defence show, forming part of the Vision 2030 aims for the nation moving forward to diversify for the future. We were pleased to be able to provide a Deputy Flying Display Director for the event, which took place in 6-9th March at the purpose built venue near Malham, about 30 miles North of the capital Riyadh.
With over 600 defence exhibitors inside and outside the halls, the new airfield and land demo areas were used for customer demonstrations and flying displays by both the Royal Saudi Air Forces Saudi Hawks and the UAE’s Al Fursan. Unfortunately in the 3 days running into the show, poor weather, in the form of dust storms, prevented a full flying display and the opening ceremony from taking place as final practices and preparations could not be completed. The event is scheduled to be biennial and is a trade show, not open to the public.
We are proud to have been involved with the event
