Armed Forces Day 2025 was a spectacular celebration across the UK, bringing together communities to honor the dedication and sacrifices of our armed forces. The Team had a key role in making this year’s celebrations memorable, helping deliver breathtaking displays at several major events.

With just 4 weeks to go before the NE Lincolnshire Armed Forces Weekend kicked off, it was announced that the town of Cleethorpes would become the venue for the National celebrations. Having hosted the event back in 2016, Cleethorpes made history in becoming the first town to host for a second time. Over the two days, visitors flocked to the seaside town, making the most of the good weather to show their support for our Veterans, Serving Personnel and Cadet Forces.

In the air the RAF Red Arrows took centre stage, bringing the national colours to the skies over the Humber Estuary, infront of a packed beach and promenade. The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight were present showcasing the Spitfire and Hurricane in a thrilling and poigniant Tailchase display, whilst current operational aircraft were represented by the mighty Chinook, completing a series of flypasts. The planned Typhoon Display, was sadly cancelled by the Typhoon Display Team on Friday, along with their other displays at Scarborough and Old Warden.
Day 2 of the event, is always a little more relaxed, with much of the formality reserved for the first day. A short flying display, featuring the BBMF’s Spitfire MkII, Calidus Autogyro, Pitts Special and Rich Goodwin in the Jet Pitts, closing the event for 2025.

Scarborough once again demonstrated its unwavering support for the Armed Forces during the 2025 Armed Forces Day celebrations held on Saturday, June 28th. The event, set against the stunning backdrop of the North Sea coast, brought together residents, veterans, service members, and visitors to honor and celebrate the dedication of our Armed Forces and Cadets. The Town played host to the National Celebrations back in 2022 and visitors were not left disappointed. The loss of the Typhoon display was a major blow to the event, but the flying displays from Gyro Air Displays, Tiger Moth, The Starlings, Rich Goodwin in the Jet Pitts and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight gave visitors plenty to see in the air.

The final event of the weekend took place over the Solent, with the Isle of Wight hosting it’s celebrations at Ryde. The event held on Sunday 29th, showcased the Island’s support for our services, in an area with a rich Naval and maritime history. In addition to the various ground events, The RAF’s Red Arrows, BBMF and Falcons all made an appearance and airborne activity also came from the Royal Navy, in the guise of their official parachute team, the RN Raiders.

It’s always fantastic to be able to support various Armed Forces Day events and we remain thankful to those who have, those who do and those who want to serve their nation in future. The weather was kind across the country for AFD 2025 and we look forward to 2026.
