The Leicestserhsire Tourism Awards were held last night in a glitzy and glamourous reception evening. Looking at the many events held across the county, The Victory Show lived up to its name.
Started in 2005 The Victory Show, held annually at Foxlands Farm in the village of Cosby, near Leicester, aims to educate, remember and commemorate all those in WW2, from all nations. 2020 will see the final show being held on the expansive farm over the 12-13 September.
With re-enactors telling the stories of individual units, ground displays and battle re-enactments, the event is an emersive and interactive living history event. With genuine WW2 vehicles, tanks, aircraft and many veterans present, The Victory Show is both an educational and entertaining event for all.
No only does the event have its own battlefield and display grounds, but for 4 days a year it becomes RAF Foxlands with its own fully operational airfield, containing Fighters, Transports, Maritime Patrol aircraft and many others. If you have your own aircraft you can even fly in!
Huge Congratulations on winning the Favourite Event or Festival category, an award that is well deserved and testiment to the dedication of all involved!
